The parish religious education program partners with the family and the entire parish community to help form our children in the faith through formal instruction, participation in worship, and serving others as Disciples of Christ.

This weekly program introduces our children to the teachings of the Jesus and His Church in a joyful and loving way through celebration, prayer, song and engaging activities.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
ph: (845) 638-4215 | e: stfrancisprepoffice@gmail.comCatechesis of the Good Shepherd welcomes children ages 3 to 5 years old into a sacred environment called an Atrium. This method of faith formation originated fifty years ago in Italy by Sofia Cavaletti, recognizes the relationship young children already have with God, and uses the Montessori method of self paced discovery.

Share the Word

ph: (845) 638-4215 | e: stfrancisprepoffice@gmail.comShare the Word is a Faith Formation Program that helps our youngest members understand the Gospel of the day. Share the Word takes place on most Sundays from September through May during the 10:15 Family Mass. At the start of Mass, all children in Pre-K, K and 1st grade are invited to Rader Hall during the Liturgy of the Word. There is a Catechist for each grade level. The Catechist distributes a leaflet to the children that has readings and activities related to the readings of the day. The children bring this leaflet home and share it with their families.
Children's Liturgy

We use a team of catechists and children are recruited from a particular grade level and use Liturgical children's Mass preparation resources to help lead the Sunday Mass celebration.
